Below depths of river Ru lies a sprawling maze of catacombs, no one knows when they were built, only that a persistent, mind-clearing humming emanates from the gaping chasm in the middle of it. 

The catacombs were slowly made hospitable by those who discovered the humming’s therapeutic purposes. With wayfinding signs, inns and eateries opening up in the depths, with no marked prices and no rules, save for that the silence of the humming catacombs be observed. 

But one day, with a great groaning from the heart of the earth, a fearful totem pushed out. 

A amalgamation of deities with grinning heads and dancing hands, all surrounding a quiet meditating figure in the middle. It struck a frightening profile of eyes and arms, and the merchants and proprietors soon fled the place. Unable to operate under the burning gaze of the totem’s head. 

The humming persists (and there are those who still insist that it is good for you) although the once-bustling depths have been emptied out. Leaving the few pilgrims who make the trip past ruins of civilization past to gaze upon the visage of the totem.. 

And why the merchants fled, the amalgamated deity knew not. After all, they were only there to remind the people of the second river that what they saw might not always be the truth of a situation.
