一百个心里有一百个齐天大圣: A hundred different hearts hold a hundred different Sun Wukongs.

There are so many stories about this beloved character in Chinese mythology, so many retellings and so many modern encounters that creating anything Wukong-related means drawing on the generations of love and art the Journey to the west has spawned.

In my attempt to consolidate everything people love about the story, the character and his ethos as best as I could into a single illustration. I spent time with Youtube playlists, the original texts, video game OSTs, the 1982 opening theme to finally put pen to paper and image him in my own way.
